Further, he seemed to be content to do nothing about them until now. In Gen 21:31 Abraham and Abimelech took an oath of witness that the former had dug the well and seven ewe lambs were offered in sacrifice, "Wherefore he called that place Beer-sheba; because there they sware both of them." Jacob learned and realized for the first time God's intention to save the whole world through the sacrifice of His only Son who would be a descendant of his, the Jewish Messiah.
